Low-temperature piping networks across Russian energy and process facilities demand forged fittings with proven impact toughness, especially for high-pressure branch connections. Haihao Group has completed fabrication and shipment of ASTM A350 LF2 CL1 forged fittings, including integrally reinforced branch outlets and socket weld elbows, for one of our long-term Russian clients. This batch combines multiple connection styles and pressure classes, matched to the site’s cold service design requirements.

Each ASTM A350 LF2 CL1 forged fitting built to MSS SP-97 functions as an integrally reinforced branch outlet, removing the need for separate reinforcing pads at header take-off points. The package includes socket weld branch outlets rated CL9000 in sizes 3″×1″, 2″×1″ and 8″×1″, alongside one butt weld branch outlet sized 8″×2″, SCH160 by SCH XXS. Every outlet follows MSS SP-97 dimensional rules, with full forging and heat treatment to lock in the low-temperature toughness that defines LF2 CL1 material.

Alongside the branch outlets, the shipment carries a ASTM A350 LF2 CL1 forged fitting: a 1″ CL9000 90° socket weld elbow manufactured to ASME B16.11. This high-class socket elbow is made for compact, high-pressure junction points where butt weld construction is less practical. We paired it with one threaded pipe nipple from A333 Gr.6, 1/2″ SCH XXS and 3 inches long, with POE to TOE NPT ends, following ASTM A733 and ASME B36.10. This nipple grade is also selected for low-temperature service, so it aligns thermally with the LF2 outlets on the same line.

Our QC team separated inspection workflows for the two main standards in this order. MSS SP-97 branch outlets received dimensional verification of run-branch transitions and reinforcement profiles, while the socket weld elbow was checked against ASME B16.11 socket depth and pressure boundary dimensions. Material test documents are sorted individually by heat number, which helps the Russian engineering team carry out site acceptance and traceability without extra sorting work. All fittings are marked clearly with grade, class, size and standard before packing.
