2.Temperature and Pressure Constraints

Due to the limitations of their design and sealing materials, butterfly valves are generally unsuitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications. Their typical working conditions are below 300°C and a pressure of PN40 or less.

3.Inferior Sealing Performance

Compared to ball valves and globe valves, the sealing performance of butterfly valves is less reliable. As such, they are better suited for applications where stringent sealing is not a primary requirement.

Butterfly valves are an excellent choice for systems requiring lightweight, cost-effective, and rapid operation solutions. They excel in low to moderate pressure and temperature environments and are particularly effective for large-diameter pipelines and media with solid particles. However, their limited flow control precision, sealing capabilities, and resistance to extreme conditions should be taken into account when selecting a valve for specific applications.
