The situation that industrial pipelines cannot be subjected to hydrostatic testing
Not long ago, the prefabricated parts ordered by Chilean customers completed the hydrostatic test before delivery. Hydrostatic testing is a commonly used testing method to check the strength and air tightness of pipelines, which is widely used in pipeline quality inspection. However, for some pipeline projects, due to the following problems, the hydrostatic test may not be possible. Let’s get to know.
1.The project is located on an island or desert, and lacks sufficient fresh water for hydrostatic test. Especially for the hydrostatic test of austenitic stainless steel pipes, it is generally required that the chloride ion content shall not exceed 50ppm.
2.The pipe diameter is too large, such as the flare pipeline of large coal chemical and oil refining units, resulting in insufficient test water.
3.The hydrostatic test may damage the lining or internal insulation layer, or pollute the production process, or cause the risk of brittle fracture due to low temperature during the test.
As a large enterprise specializing in the production of pipeline engineering supporting products, Haihao Group has a complete quality inspection system. Haihao’s flanges, steel pipes, pipe fittings, elbows, tees and other supporting products for pipeline engineering support various types of quality inspection. For different application environments, Haihao can adjust the product characteristics to meet the customer’s application needs in various pipeline projects.
