Customers purchase H-beam steel

H Beam is a kind of economical and efficient section steel with more optimized section area distribution and more reasonable strength weight ratio. It is named because its section is the same as the “H”. Since all parts of H-shaped steel are arranged at right angles, H-shaped steel has been widely used for its advantages of strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving and light structural weight in all directions.

Steel Grade: S355JR per EN 10025 or A913 Gr.50 per ASTM A 6/A 6M-05a

Dimensions • h: 352 mm • b: 373.8 mm • Flange Thickness: 15.7 mm • Web Thickness: 15.6 mm • Length: 18 m

Permitted variations in dimensions and mass shall be in accordance with EN 10034:1993 or ASTM A 6/A 6M-05a.

Without introducing standards and materials, let’s look at the dimensions. As shown below, mainly the comparison of these two values, the flange width b and web height h, to classify H Beams.

According to the flange width of the H beam, it can be divided into equal flange(HP), wide flange(HW), middle flange(HM) and narrow flange(HN). The flange width B of HW and HM is greater than or equal to the web height H. The flange width B of HN is about half of the web height H.
