What are the quality inspections of seamless steel pipes?

API 5L PSL1 Grade B seamless steel pipes

1 Chemical composition analysis: chemical analysis method, instrumental analysis method (infrared C-S instrument, direct reading spectrometer, zcP, etc.).

2.Geometric dimension and appearance inspection of steel pipe, including:

Steel pipe wall thickness inspection; Inspection for outer diameter and ovality of steel pipe; Steel pipe length inspection; Steel pipe bending inspection; Inspection for groove angle and blunt edge of steel pipe end face;

3.Surface quality inspection of steel pipes, including:

Manual visual inspection: lighting conditions, standards, experience, identification, steel pipe rotation.

NDT: UT; Eddy current flaw detection ET; Magnetic particle MT and magnetic flux leakage testing; Electromagnetic ultrasonic flaw detection; Penetrant testing.

4.Steel management performance inspection: tensile test; Impact test; Hardness test; Hydraulic test.

5.Process performance inspection of steel pipes: flattening test, circular tension test, flaring and crimping test, bending test.

6.Metallographic analysis of steel pipe:

High magnification test (microscopic analysis): non-metallic inclusion.

Low magnification test (macro analysis): naked eye, magnifying glass less than 10x.
