Why seamless steel pipe can not be produced by casting method

Seamless steel pipe has hollow section, which is widely used as pipeline for fluid transportation, such as pipeline for oil, natural gas, gas, water and some solid materials. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, steel pipe has the same bending and torsional strength.

Steel and cast iron differ greatly in strength. Cast iron has low strength and is brittle. It can only be used in places where strength requirements are not high.

Different production methods, seamless steel pipe is formed by extrusion with high surface finish. Because of the limitation of production conditions, the products produced by the two methods are often poor in finish, so the products produced by the two methods can not be interoperable.

Casting is not firm, forging can eliminate the micro-pore and make the metal microcrystalline arrangement more orderly and compact.
