Haihao Group empowers Novatek’s “Arctic LNG-2” project with premium pipe fittings

Haihao Group is proud to be an integral part of Novatek’s groundbreaking “Arctic LNG-2” project, which promises to be a game-changer in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. With three natural gas liquefaction production lines boasting an annual capacity of 6.6 million tons, the project is set to significantly contribute to the world’s energy landscape.

At the core of each production line lies the natural gas liquefaction storage and transportation module, a crucial component that enables efficient and safe LNG storage and transit. This module is a brilliant fusion of the gravity structure (GBS) and the floating production storage and transportation module (FPSO) technologies, creating a robust system tailored to Arctic conditions.

Comprising two 114,500 cubic meters LNG storage tanks and one 980 cubic meter ethane storage tank, each natural gas liquefaction storage and transportation module is designed to withstand the challenges of extreme Arctic temperatures and volatile maritime conditions.

The “Arctic LNG-2” project involves constructing three natural gas liquefaction storage and transportation modules at the gravity structure base in Murmansk, Russia. Upon completion, these modules will embark on a sea journey to the Gulf of Ob, where they will be installed at the Utrenneye gas field terminal near the Gedda Peninsula.

On July 20, 2023, when the first natural gas liquefaction storage and transportation module set sail from the prefabrication yard. The momentous occasion was graced by the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who personally visited the yard to announce the departure.

With an ambitious timeline, the “Arctic LNG-2” project is set to hit the ground running. The first natural gas liquefaction train is scheduled to commence production this year, followed by the second and third trains in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Once in full operation, the project will significantly enhance Russia’s LNG production and export capabilities, further solidifying its position as a key player in the global energy market.
